It started snowing again today and has been snowing on and off all day and tonight. The snow is even sticking to the ground!!!:D although its technically still the middle of Fall, I'm excited that it has started snowing so early!!!:)
Had the President's dinner today to honor the benefactors of the scholarships I received. It went ok but I was kinda bored the whole time since I didn't know anyone at my table. Wore a dress and later froze my legs off when walking to and fro from the dorm to Cosgrave center where the dinner was held. At least I had a coat on unlike Caitlin Nilan who didn't expect it to continue to snow and become colder.

First snowfall of the year!

IT SNOWED TODAY!!!
yes, it was only a little flurry and nothing like an actual snowfall but considering that's its still technically Fall, snow this early is unbelievable to me. I can tell that this winter is going to be a bad one. Last year, was actually a mild one for this area( and I thought last year was bad). Well...apparently not....
And not everyone is too happy with this early snowfall. I am because it gives me reason to bundle up in scarfs and gloves without looking like an idiot:)

Last Sunday, I made pinatas with some friends. Its basically making a paper mache out of a balloon, waiting for it to dry and then decorating the paper mache and filling it with sweets. You then have to hit it with a bat to break the paper mache so that all the sweets come out. Its a Halloween tradition of sorts. Right now, my balloon paper mache is still drying by the window.

Random Thought....

I just realized, that last year, I came very close to passing by the area where flight 93 crashed in 2001. The reason, I thought of this because in today's newspaper I read an article about how the families of the crash victims were fighting with the land owners to set up a memorial on the crash site. It would be lovely if the project ever occurs.

First day of school after break

Today made me miss all the food I ate over break!!Back again is the over/undercooked veges and slabs of meat.... I've ended my day with another play practice.I'm getting better at saying Portuguese but my accent is not going so good. I'll be getting my mid term grades soon in the mail.I know some of them already and they aren't bad. So hopefully the others won't be either. Got to go study for my Statistics exam now:(

Driving back to school, I got the shock of life! I was on a billboard by the school!!!
OMG! It was picture taken at a baseball game I went to early on in the semester. We were driving and suddenly Amy goes 'Oh my gosh! You're on the billboard!' So we take a U-turn back and true to fact, I was on it it. I cannot believe they chose that picture of all pictures to put up for everyone driving past to see!

I should just sue the school....:D

End to a wonderful break

So I'm back to school tomorrow...sigh.
Its been yet another good break with me trying out new stuff:) As you know, I spending my break with my friend from choir at her house near the Poconos Mountains( Mt Bethel to be exact). Its beautiful here!! There's lots of woods and trees in the fall colours and a pretty lake near by. She has a dog and a cat and they're both adorable although I don't really know how to act around the cat:P
On Fri after we drove from Cresson, the whole family and I went to one of Amy's grandparents house for dinner. From there, Amy and I drove to see her High school marching band at their high school football game so that I could get info for a music paper I had to do. It was a special

On Sat, I went deer hunting along with Amy's dad and Amy. Amy's Dad had already shot a deer but it apparently got away since its wound was not serious. So we went along later to help to search for it. I was placed as the look out on the trail while the they went into the foliage to look for the deer since I did not want to see them shoot a deer up close! I was just to inform them if the deer ran away from them past me and make I know which direction it did go. However, in the end we never did find it...so I never did see a dead deer...then in the afternoon Amy and I made Jewish Apple cake for the big family dinner that was going to take place later that night. Both sets of grandparents and her godmother and her grandson joined us. Basically I was interrogated from all sides and had to repeatedly repeat stuff cause most of them were kinda deaf :P But I enjoyed every moment of it!:)We had clams which I tried eating both raw and cooked...it was an ...interesting experience. But hey! at least I tried!

Sun we got up early for 7.45am mass and the rest of the day was just spent doing homework mostly. Amy's dad made steak especially for us and then Amy and I caught a movie...it was pretty uneventful.

Today, Amy's grandmother took the 2 of us to Red Robins for lunch as a treat...she said I was adopted by her till I went back to school...so sweet of her!! Evening we made a delicious Crumbly Apple pie and just hung out and talked!! And so ends my break. event because that day, all the alumni of the band was invited to play too. We saw an 88 year old who was from the class of 1938 and who was the band's first majorette pump her baton up and down in perfect rhythm!! And they're playing so good! You could practically hear how much fun they were having just by listening to the music.

Joke of the day

If Helen Keller was psychic then you could say that it was her 4th sense.

The Play

I've so busy that I can't believe that I actually managed to survive the past couple of weeks!
Now on top of everything else that I'm already doing ( Resident Assistant, Campus ministry, Colleges against Cancer, Vox Nova, Honors Program, Peer Tutoring and Proctoring) I have been give the lead in the upcoming play. I don't even want it but me being me, I just didn't know how to say no!
I went to the auditions to say Hi to my ex-RA who graduated last year and was helping out with the play as a stage manager. As soon as the director saw me, she went all gaga and pleaded with me to read a couple of lines from the script. I think she just wanted someone ethnic looking cause the character I read for is a Brazilian. Suffice to say, she she said I was great, made me come back for callbacks the next day and eventually gave me the part. So now I have to acquire a Brazilian accent and memorize some chunks of Portuguese! The play itself has a really funny script/story though. I have play practice three or four night a week till 10pm. So this is going to an interesting semester...hope i survive to the end!
Fall Break is next week and I'm going with my friend from Vox Nova, Amy, to her house for break so that I can attend a football game and interview her band director for a paper of mine.
