Freezing Weather

Past couple of day have been the coldest we've seen for a while. A cold front from the west hit us on Wednesday and temperatures dropped to dangerous levels. On Wed night we got 3-7 inches of snow and the college DID NOT close on Thurs. Snow continued on Thurs and on Fri temperatures dropped to negative figures in the Fahrenheit scale. The highest temperature on Fri was 5 degrees Fahrenheit which is minus 15 degrees Celsius and the lowest was about minus 6 degrees Fahrenheit ( minus 21 degrees Celsius). Still, school DID NOT close on Fri even though every other school( all high schools in the STATE were closed) were closed for the day because the temperatures were dangerously cold( chances of getting frostbite was pretty high if you stayed outdoors too long) not to mention the amount of snow we had accumulated in the past few days. I was bundled up in multiple layers and still felt chilled outside when I had to walk from the dorm to the cafeteria. On Thurs, I had to brave the freezing temperatures and go down the road to the Pharmacy to pick up some medications. Sol, my roommate, accompanied me and got herself a smoothie before we walked back to the school. By the time we made it back to the school, Sol's smoothie had frozen in the cup even though she was drinking it while walking up the road!!

Thankfully, today, the temperature has gone up a bit. It's only minus 4 degrees Celsius now:P
